Q: What do I do?
A: Breathe :) . Fill out the form or give us a call so we can help you.
Q: How do you charge?
A: Usually by the hour.
Q: I don't know how long I need entertainers for?
A: We usually have a pretty good idea on how long you need depending on how many people are going to be there and which services you are wanting. It's always better to book a little extra time to ensure that everyone has a great time.
Q: Can I book more than 1 entertainer?
A: Yes.
Q: How do I book you?
A: Easiest way is to fill out the form, since it has all the questions I would be asking you, and tell me that you are wanting to book. We will check for availability, send you an invoice and when the deposit is received, then you are booked and on our calendar.
Q: How do I get the deposit to you?
A: Our invoicing system accepts most cards and bank payments. We also accept PayPal, the Cash App, Venmo, Zelle and Square.
Q: Can I just pay for the whole thing at the time of the deposit?
A: Absolutely.
Q: How much is the deposit and is it refundable?
A: It is usually 50% unless other arrangements have been made. And no, it is not refundable.
Q: Why is there a deposit?
A: To let us know that you are serious about reserving our time and so you will know that we are serious about your event.
Q: Is it OK if I have a friend or relative who offers to face paint with you?
A: Such a sweet gesture but they should be able to enjoy the party as a guest. And actually our insurance wouldn't be very happy. We do have a policy that states that it is not allowable for anyone other than the entertainer to use our equipment or supplies.
Q: Will you face paint a masterpiece on my little one who has never been painted before and hasn't had a nap - I'm sure they'll sit still or I can just hold them down?
A: Yes... After they are sound asleep.
Our goal is for kids to have fun and if it's not fun for them, then we don't want to promote unpleasantness. Usually, for little ones, we start out slow... Maybe paint something simple on their arm or leg so they can watch and see that they are included and that its not scary for them. Sometimes we use a quick stencil. But if they are not ready... then maybe next time they will be. We don't want to set a bad precedent nor do we paint crying kids. We like win / win situations.
Q: Will you give my infant a balloon?
A: No, but I will give you a balloon instead because you, a responsible adult, can make sure your infant doesn't put the balloon in their mouth since balloons can be choking hazards. We give balloons to children 3 years and up. However it is ultimately the parents responsibility.
Q: Does the face paint come off? (usually the kid's question)
How do you get the face paint off? (usually the adult's question )
A: Yes, It does come off. Soap and water, rain, sweat, tears, baby wipes, gasoline... wait ... not gasoline.
But my favorite method is: shampoo straight out of the bottle applied to the dry surface of the paint, smeared into a lather making a huge muddy looking mess that rinses away beautifully with clean water - no scrubbing.
Q: How many balloons, face paintings, or tattoos can each kid have?
A: We usually don't mind doing seconds as long as time allows and everyone has had firsts. Accidentally popped balloons are a little different.... Deliberately popped balloons - not cool.
Q: Do you paint adults?
A: Yes, if it is OK with the client. We love it when the adults join in the fun. We also do corporate events, adult parties (face painting and airbrush tattoos), and body painting.
Q: What can you paint / make?
A: This depends on the party, the time, and the number of guests. More detailed work takes longer so it may not be appropriate if there are many guests. On the other hand we may have time for more elaborate work. Each entertainer knows what works for them and has their own version. If time is of essence, entertainers may display a list of choices to pick from to help with decisions and ensure shorter wait times.
Q: If I show you this picture on my phone, can you do it just exactly like that?
A: Probably, but not only is it someone else's work... it really slows us down. Each artist has their own style and rhythm. You might see us use our phone for reference occasionally but that is usually to verify accuracy.
